Utility Brook

Refund & cancellation policy

How deposits, cancellations, and refunds work for Utility Brook advisory engagements.

This policy applies to consulting engagements with Utility Brook (secure code review, application hardening advisory, pre-release assessment, and architecture threat walkthroughs). This site does not sell physical products or software subscriptions.

Eligibility

Refunds apply to fees paid under an accepted proposal when cancellation or scope change meets the conditions below. Informational browsing of the website involves no charge.

Timeframe to request

Contact info@utilitybrook.click as soon as you need to cancel or reschedule. Refund determinations are confirmed in writing.

Full refund

A full refund of amounts paid is available if you cancel before we receive repository or environment access and before review work has started, provided notice arrives at least five business days before the scheduled start date stated in the proposal.

Partial refund

If you cancel after work has started, we refund the unused portion of the fee after deducting time already spent (including intake, access setup, and review hours) at the rates in the proposal. Minimum deduction is one advisory day once access has been used.

Non-refundable items

  • Completed findings workshops and delivered reports
  • Third-party costs expressly approved in writing (for example, booked meeting rooms)
  • Time spent waiting because agreed access was not provided on the start date

Work already started

Once reviewers have begun reading code or configurations under the proposal, that portion of the fee is earned. Deliverables produced up to cancellation remain available to you under the proposal’s IP terms.

Deposits

Multi-week engagements may require a deposit. Deposits are applied to the final invoice. Deposits become non-refundable once the review window begins or once access credentials have been used, whichever comes first.

Rescheduling

You may reschedule once without penalty if you give at least five business days’ notice and a new window is mutually agreed within three months. Later or repeated reschedules may be billed as a scheduling fee equal to one half advisory day.

No-shows

If your technical contact is unreachable for more than two consecutive business days during an active window without prior notice, we may pause the engagement and charge for days reserved.

Refund process & timing

Approved refunds are returned via the original payment method within fourteen business days after written approval. Bank processing times may add delay beyond our transfer date.

Method

Refunds are issued in the currency collected, typically TWD for Taiwan engagements, unless the proposal states otherwise.

Contact for refund requests

Email info@utilitybrook.click with your proposal reference, reason, and preferred contact number (+886 2 0000 7630). Postal correspondence: Office 12, 31 Example Avenue, Taipei 00000.

Exceptions

If a proposal states different cancellation terms, the signed proposal controls. Statutory rights under Taiwanese law that cannot be waived remain available.
